The PGE MKS El-Volt Lublin handball team officially introduced itself to fans before the upcoming season. Coach Paweł Tetelewski emphasized the importance of community support during home games at the Globus Arena and on the road.
In an event held at Kino Perła, the team showcased nearly all its players, excluding Oktawia Fedeńczak, along with the coaching staff. Attendees included local officials and sponsors, highlighting community engagement with the team. Beata Stepaniuk-Kuśmierzak, Deputy Mayor of Lublin for Culture, Sport, and Participation, expressed pride in being part of the team’s journey and wished for an exciting season filled with sportsmanship.
The event generated excitement, particularly with the introduction of new players like Adrianna Górna and Daria Przywara, both joining from KGHM Zagłębie Lubin. These athletes aim to challenge their former teammates for championship titles. The team also added Wiktoria Gliwińska, Julia Owczaruk, and three international players: Patricia Lima from Portugal, Caroline Martins, who has Brazilian heritage, and Maria Prieto O’Mullony from Spain, who boasts over 1,400 goals in national competitions.
Dominika Więckowska, the team’s new captain, thanked fans for their ongoing support and acknowledged the contributions of local authorities and sponsors. She looked forward to engaging with the community during the season and mentioned the upcoming match for the Polish Supercup in Łódź.
Coach Tetelewski reiterated the team’s commitment to achieving positive results and fostering an enjoyable atmosphere for fans. The gathering served not only to introduce the team but also to strengthen bonds with supporters, featuring autograph sessions and photo opportunities.
The PGE MKS El-Volt Lublin will begin its season on August 30 in the Atlas Arena, competing for the Supercup against Zagłębie Lubin. This match promises to deliver high-stakes action and sets the tone for the league, which kicks off on September 3 against Ruch Chorzów in Globus.
The commitment to building a strong community presence reflects a broader trend in sports to enhance local engagement and support, fostering a sense of belonging and teamwork that extends beyond the game. This approach not only boosts team morale but also solidifies the relationship between the team and its supporters, creating a vibrant atmosphere for the upcoming season.
