Jinko ESS and METLEN Partner for Over 3GWh in Energy Storage

Jinko ESS, a prominent energy storage company, and METLEN, an established industrial and energy firm, have entered a strategic partnership to deploy over 3 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in Europe and Latin America. The Frame Agreement was finalized at METLEN’s headquarters in Athens, signaling a significant commitment to enhancing energy storage capabilities in these regions.

The collaboration builds on a successful project already underway in Chile, where Jinko ESS is supplying its advanced G2 Utility systems. This project, which is set for completion by the fourth quarter of 2025, accounts for 1.6 GWh of the overall partnership.

Fangkai Zhou, CEO of Jinko ESS, and Nikos Papapetrou, Executive Director of METLEN’s M Renewables division, signed the agreement, which combines Jinko ESS’s state-of-the-art BESS technology with METLEN’s extensive experience in global energy markets. “This framework ensures long-term supply security while driving the clean energy transition in key markets,” stated Zhou.

Moreover, METLEN’s current portfolio includes a robust 12.7 gigawatts (GW) pipeline of projects across various stages, with 2.6 GW dedicated to energy storage. This partnership aims to solve pressing grid stability issues by offering reliable energy storage solutions, thus facilitating the integration of renewable energy sources into existing infrastructures.

The collaboration not only strengthens Jinko ESS’s presence in the global BESS market but also solidifies METLEN’s position as a leader in sustainable energy development. Both companies are focused on advancing renewable energy adoption by providing innovative storage solutions that meet the growing demand for energy resilience in the face of climate change.
