Eurowind Energy invests €174.8 million in Romania's solar park

Eurowind Energy has announced a €174.8 million investment to develop its largest solar park in Romania, located in Vișina, Dâmbovița County. This project will feature an installed capacity of 220 MW, making it one of the largest solar installations in the country.

The new solar park will occupy a 354-hectare site and will include over 400,000 photovoltaic panels. Once operational, it is projected to generate approximately 400 GWh of renewable electricity each year, enough to power around 150,000 households.

Adrian Dobre, Country Manager for Romania at Eurowind Energy, emphasized the company’s long-term commitment to the region, noting that Eurowind has a local development pipeline of approximately 7.5 GW across various stages. Dobre stated, “The Vișina project is a major achievement for us. We’ve dedicated several years to its development and are eager to move into the construction phase. We also consider integrating storage solutions where necessary to support grid stability and advance sustainable energy growth.”

In addition to the solar park, Eurowind Energy will improve a 7.5-kilometer agricultural access road, ensuring it remains open for public use and aiding local infrastructure.

The Vișina solar park marks Eurowind Energy’s fifth solar project in Romania, following developments in Hălchiu, Măgurele, Pufești, and Teiuș. By the end of 2025, the company aims to operate 124 MW of solar energy in Romania, accompanied by a diverse development pipeline of around 7.5 GW, which includes solar, wind, hybrid, and energy storage projects.
