Egypt’s Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Mahmoud Esmat, recently met with Liu Zhenya, Chairman of the Global Energy Interconnection Development and Cooperation Organization (GEIDCO), to discuss strategies for expanding global power interconnection projects. This meeting occurred during the Shanghai Conference on Renewable Energy, Clean Energy Solutions, and Energy Transition in China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The discussions focused on increasing the use of clean energy sources to meet growing electricity demands, aligning efforts with the United Nations\u2019 Sustainable Development Goals. Esmat and the GEIDCO delegation explored potential partnerships aimed at optimizing renewable energy utilization, enhancing energy efficiency, and advancing electricity interconnection initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Esmat highlighted GEIDCO’s role in promoting smart grids and supporting capacity building in developing nations. The conversation included ambitious plans to connect electricity networks across Asia, Africa, and Europe.
