Energa, part of the Orlen Group, announced that the facility will soon undergo technological testing, with plans to obtain operational permits by the fourth quarter of this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This project, executed by Energa Green Development in partnership with Neo Energy Group and ONDE, spans approximately 900 hectares. Each turbine has a capacity of 2.2 MW, and the wind farm is expected to annually generate enough electricity to supply over 40,000 households.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Energa emphasizes that the Szybowice wind farm is integral to Orlen&#8217;s energy transformation strategy, which aims for an installed capacity of 12.8 GW from renewable sources by 2035, including both onshore and offshore installations. Arkadiusz Bakierzy\u0144ski, President of Energa Green Development, highlighted that while the group primarily relies on solar energy assets, diversifying energy sources is critical for maintaining grid stability amid weather fluctuations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently, finishing touches are being applied to the Szybowice site in preparation for its technological launch. Testing of the turbines will commence shortly, with completion expected by the end of the third quarter. Energa plans to secure usage permits by late 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Szybowice wind farm is one of several renewable energy projects in southern Poland, including solar farms in Lower Silesia: Serby (112 MW) and Kotla (130 MW). The Serby project was acquired by Energa Green Development in May, and the Kotla project was purchased by Energa Wytwarzanie in August 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By the end of 2024, Energa aims to maintain a 53% share of renewable energy in its total installed generation capacity, which includes 350 MW from solar, 256 MW from wind, 202 MW from hydropower, and around 82 MW from biomass. In 2024 alone, the company&#8217;s renewable sources produced 1.5 TWh of electricity, constituting 55% of its total gross generation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of the Orlen Group, Energa also diversifies into oil and gas extraction, petrochemicals, and nuclear energy, with plans to develop small modular reactors (SMRs).
