RWE has officially completed the construction of a new offshore wind control centre in Jemgum, East Frisia, marking a significant step toward operational readiness scheduled for spring 2026. This facility will manage RWE\u2019s offshore wind farms across Germany and continental Europe, ensuring continuous monitoring and coordination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The control centre, measuring 1,120 square meters, will house a team of approximately 50 RWE employees. It features a state-of-the-art control room, along with designated office and break areas designed to support staff effectively. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This new building is constructed to meet high sustainability standards and aims for certification under Germany\u2019s QNG quality seal for sustainable buildings. RWE confirmed that the facility will monitor the movements of ships, wind turbines, and substations, centralizing operations for efficiency and safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition to its operational role, the site will serve as the project office for the 1.6 gigawatt Nordseecluster. This ambitious project, developed in partnership with Norges Bank Investment Management, is located north of Juist and aims to provide electricity to up to 1.6 million homes upon its completion.
