AMPYR launches solar and storage services in Germany

AMPYR Distributed Energy (ADE) has officially entered the German market, aiming to boost the adoption of onsite solar energy and battery storage systems for commercial and industrial businesses. This expansion is part of ADE’s strategy to enhance renewable energy utilization across Europe.

Using a power purchase agreement (PPA) model, ADE allows businesses to implement solar panels and battery energy storage systems without any upfront costs. This model helps companies lower their energy expenses while improving their resilience and sustainability efforts.

John Behan, CEO of ADE, highlighted the urgency of this move, stating, “Germany’s high energy costs make it a prime target for our offerings. The country has a substantial opportunity for onsite PPAs, supported by its strong renewable energy policies.”

ADE has already secured contracts totaling over 50 MW of renewable energy capacity across approximately 50 sites in the UK. The company aims to replicate this success in Germany, where it sees significant demand for onsite energy solutions.

Nick Koidl has been appointed Managing Director for the German operations. Koidl brings a wealth of experience in energy and sustainability, which will be crucial as ADE establishes its presence in Germany’s competitive industrial market.
