Azerbaijan is advancing its renewable energy initiatives with a plan to build 90 renewable energy plants in the Garabagh and East Zangazur regions by 2030. This ambitious project was announced by Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov during the 10th annual Global Conference on Energy Efficiency, organized by the International Energy Agency in Brussels.
The new plants are expected to significantly contribute to Azerbaijan’s energy supply while supporting the country’s transition towards green energy. The initiative aligns with global trends aiming to reduce carbon emissions and reliance on fossil fuels.
Minister Shahbazov emphasized the importance of diversifying Azerbaijan’s energy portfolio, highlighting that the construction of these renewable plants will create job opportunities and stimulate local economies in the regions involved.
As Azerbaijan gears up for this extensive project, it continues to explore various forms of renewable energy, including solar and wind power. The government aims to enhance energy security and sustainability through these developments.
This project marks a forward-looking step for Azerbaijan as it seeks to position itself as a leader in renewable energy in the region, contributing to both local and global sustainability goals.
