Skycorp Solar unveils advanced PV technology at SNEC 2025

Skycorp Solar Group Limited, a leader in solar photovoltaic (PV) products, showcased its latest innovations at the 18th SNEC International Photovoltaic Power Generation and Smart Energy Conference & Exhibition in Ningbo, China, from June 11-13, 2025. The company emphasized its commitment to research and development, having invested over RMB100 million (approximately $14 million) in the past 14 years, resulting in 47 patented technologies.

One of the standout innovations presented was the MC4 series connectors, which feature a dual-seal design that reduces contact resistance by 20% compared to conventional connectors. This advancement not only improves performance but also achieves an IP68 protection rating, ensuring durability in harsh environments. Additionally, these connectors are equipped with phosphorus-nitrogen flame-retardant technology that meets UL94 V-0 standards, making them suitable for both photovoltaic and energy storage applications.

Skycorp’s subsidiary, Ningbo Pntech New Energy Co., Ltd. (PNTECH), introduced new photovoltaic connection solutions that drew significant attention during the exhibition. The company’s advanced technologies have already been utilized in various international projects, including Germany’s 15MW distributed PV system, Australia’s 120MW solar-plus-storage initiative, and Poland’s 48MW agrivoltaic installation. Each project complies with global industry standards and incorporates patented anti-UV technology. In China, PNTECH supplies cables and connectors for government projects, including a photovoltaic curtain wall system that generates 300,000 kWh annually, thanks to its patented “6-in-1” technology.

Skycorp Solar Group operates in over 140 countries, with an annual supply capacity reaching 9.3GW and cable shipments exceeding 100 million meters. The company has expanded its manufacturing capabilities to include six photovoltaic cable production lines and eight connector manufacturing lines, supported by a new 16,000-square-meter smart factory.

At SNEC 2025, the company highlighted its commitment to adhering to international standards, with products certified by TÜV, IEC, CE, and CQC. Jimmy Sheng, Global Sales Director of PNTECH, stated, “Our product lineup demonstrates exceptional performance and reliability. All solutions meet rigorous international standards.”

Looking to the future, CEO Weiqi Huang noted that Skycorp plans to allocate over 8% of its annual revenue to research and development. The company aims to transition from traditional connections to intelligent solutions, with a focus on integrating materials science and electrical engineering to further improve photovoltaic connection standards. With its growing international footprint, strong industry collaborations, and ongoing commitment to innovation, Skycorp Solar Group aims to deliver long-term value in the renewable energy sector.
