The Nordex Group has expanded its operations in Europe by securing contracts totaling 135 megawatts (MW) across the UK, Belgium, and France as of late June. The German wind turbine manufacturer will provide equipment for several projects, including two wind farms in Scotland with a combined capacity of 75.7 MW. These Scottish projects will utilize six N133/4800 turbines and seven N163/6.X turbines, marking the debut of the N163/6.X model in the UK.
In Belgium, Nordex will install two N163/5.X turbines for an 11.8 MW wind farm, which also represents a first for the company in that country. This installation will highlight the adaptability of Nordex’s latest turbine technology in various European environments.
In France, customers have ordered nine turbines across two separate sites. Seven N149/5.X turbines will generate 39.9 MW, while two N117/3600 turbines will add another 7.2 MW. These contracts underline the growing trust in Nordex’s established turbine platforms.
All contracts include service and maintenance agreements for different durations, ensuring consistent revenue streams for Nordex, headquartered in Hamburg. The delivery and installation of the turbines are set to begin in mid-2026, providing a clear timeline for project execution.
Nordex has not disclosed customer names or specific locations of the wind farms, adhering to standard industry confidentiality. With approximately 57 gigawatts (GW) of wind power capacity installed in over 40 markets, Nordex continues to solidify its presence in the European renewable energy sector. The company reported consolidated sales of about $7.9 billion for 2024, supported by a workforce of over 10,400 and manufacturing facilities in six countries.
